25th Annual Adaptive Winter Sports Clinic Takes Place January 9-13 At Mount Sunapee Longest-Running & Second-Largest In the U.S.

 

New England Healing Sports Association (NEHSA) is proud to co-host with VA New England Healthcare System, the 25th annual adaptive Winter Sports Clinic for Veterans with disabilities on January 9-13 at Mount Sunapee in Newbury, NH.

This event attracts Veterans with disabilities from all over the USA, with a large contingent hailing from the New England states. “For the last 25 years, we’ve focused on providing a safe, caring community for Veteran recreation and reintegration at our clinic,” says Ralph Marche, event co-founder, and NEHSA board member. “This event provides a resource that has literally changed lives.”

Together with the regional VA hospitals, NEHSA fields 120 volunteers to provide adaptive skiing and snowboarding lessons at no cost to the Veterans.

COVID FRIENDLY MARCH MILEAGE CHALLENGE KEEPS ATHLETES WITH DISABILITIES SKIING AND RIDING!  

New England Healing Sports Association (NEHSA) has changed up their 35th Annual Community Challenge to make it accessible to all and COVID-19 friendly.  “We want to engage our community at large for this year’s event and have decided to host a March Mileage Challenge!” says Executive Director Carly Bascom, “As a community, we’re aiming to clock 10k miles of physical activity in the month of March.”

New England Winter Sports Clinic will give disabled vets a chance to engage in winter sports

WHITE RIVER JUNCTION, Vt. — The 23rd annual New England Winter Sports Clinic for veterans with disabilities will be held at Mount Sunapee Ski Resort in Newbury, N.H., from Monday, Jan. 13, through Thursday, Jan. 16.

The clinic is held at Mount Sunapee each year through a collaborative partnership with the VA New England Healthcare System and the New England Healing Sports Association (NEHSA).

More than 50 veterans with disabilities who receive health care through VA facilities across New England are expected to participate in this year’s clinic with winter sports accessible to them, regardless of their abilities.
