Who can do adaptive sports?
NEHSA offers year round adaptive sports. Based at Mount Sunapee Resort, our lodge is home to our winter adaptive skiing and snowboarding program, where we offer instruction in stand up or sit-down skiing, or snowboarding (some people try both). In the warmer weather our adaptive paddle sports programs go on the road.
Our athletes range from amputees, persons recovered from polio or strokes, individuals with cerebral palsy, spina bifida, multiple sclerosis, paraplegia and quadriplegia, visual and/or deaf, and persons with developmental disabilities. Veterans Events
Veterans are welcome to any of our year-round adaptive sports. We also host several multi-day and single-day adaptive events for servicemen and servicewomen with disabilities. These events promote rehabilitation by instructing Veterans with physical and psychological needs in adaptive alpine skiing, snowboarding, ski biking, kayaking, paddleboarding and other adaptive activities and sports.
What you can expect
As with any NEHSA experience, priorities are safety, fun, and learning. Our year round programming features, adaptive skiing and adaptive snowboarding in the winter months, adaptive paddle sports and adaptive hiking in the summer and fall. We meet our athletes wherever they are in ability – you can be confident your experience will be amazing.
