Direct to Parallel Clinic AM

This course will help NEHSA volunteers have the option of teaching beginner skiers how to
make parallel turns on the first day. For many skiers, transitioning from the wedge to the
parallel turn is a challenge. Direct to Parallel will show you how to introduce the concept
of the parallel turn in the early stages of a beginner lesson. Volunteers will leave this course
with tips for teaching carved turns and will also come away with a “bag of tricks” for
transitioning skiers out of wedge turns. Both discussion of our experiences and practice
of the methods will be a part of this course.
