NEHSA offers a variety of winter sports activities for individuals with physical and cognitive disabilities. We offer individual alpine and snowboarding lessons for individuals age 3 and up. All lessons include two or three instructors per student and are tailored to the individual participant. Reservations must be made in advance, please note that weekends and holiday periods fill up quickly.
Nordic skiing may be available with advance notice.
Alpine Skiing and Snowboarding
Lessons begin the day after Christmas and continue 7 days a week as long as conditions permit. Lessons are from 10:00 am – 12:00 pm and/or 1:00 pm – 3:00 pm and include the cost of an all-day mountain lift ticket, all equipment, and instructors. Students will meet their instructors at the NEHSA lodge which is located at the far end of the parking lot nestled in-between the Mount Sunapee Learning Center and the Sunapee Lodge. Ample handicapped parking is available.
Summertime at NEHSA brings kayaking and paddle boarding. NEHSA offers lessons to all ages and disabilities, June through September. Taking part in summer sports provide our participants with the opportunity to learn new skills, build up their physical strength and have a great time in the outdoors with friends and family members.
Kayak and Paddle Board
Lessons are held Wednesdays, and alternating Fridays and Saturdays. Students will meet their instructors at Mount Sunapee State Beach. Participants should tell the State Park Attendant that they are kayaking with the NEHSA Group. Enter the State Beach and turn right. Our meeting place is next to the playground.
